What’s Going On?

On the eve of returning to Vietnam for his second tour, a decorated soldier unexpectedly finds himself immersed in a surreal journey of self-discovery at the 1969 Woodstock festival, where he falls for a free-spirited hippie, spending three unforgettable days experiencing the transformative power of peace, love, and music.

Synopsis

Set against the backdrop of Woodstock 1969, "All You Need is Love" is a captivating love story about Eddie, a soldier preparing for his second tour in Vietnam, and Diana, a free-spirited hippie. When they meet by chance in Eddie's hometown of Bethel, NY, they embark on a journey to the festival that will change their lives forever.

Amidst the mud and music of Woodstock, Eddie and Diana spend three electrifying days together, their love blossoming in the midst of the chaos and freedom, despite their different backgrounds and uncertain futures.

But as the festival comes to an end, the couple must confront the challenges of their growing romance and the harsh realities of a world in turmoil, with Eddie's imminent deployment to Vietnam.

"All You Need is Love" is a celebration of the transformative power of music and the enduring spirit of Woodstock, a testament to the human capacity for hope and connection, even in the darkest of times.

Our Leads

Edward “Fast Eddie” Quinn

A small-town war hero from Bethel, NY, currently on leave from his first tour in Vietnam. Born into a family with a strong military tradition—his father and grandfather served in WWI and WWII, and his uncle is career military—Eddie enlisted at the end of 1965, immediately after turning 18, and completed basic training at West Point. He was promoted to corporal and is about to enter the NCOC program. Eddie is a standup guy with a big heart. He is intelligent, kind, and caring, though not fully aware of the broader societal changes happening around him. Eddie has a love of creative writing and poetry and kept a journal of his short stories and poems while deployed, inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Vietnam.

Diana Flores

An intelligent and well-read young woman from Philadelphia, about to enter her sophomore year at Bryn Mawr College. Diana is very close and fiercely protective of her younger sister Andie, pulling her away from their ultra-conservative parents and instilling in her a rebellious nature. She is deeply committed to the counterculture movement, outspoken and cynical, particularly towards authority. She is an active member of the the Yippies, SDS, and MOBE.

Mature beyond her years and possessing a sharp wit, she is a gifted singer and a passionate music lover who dabbles with the acoustic guitar. Despite her hard exterior, Diana has a big heart and is a staunch advocate for free speech, women's liberation, and civil rights. Diana embodies the spirit of a true feminist and revolutionary, never needing to be rescued and always standing firm in her convictions.
